Summer Camp Card

I'm at Summer Camp -- online that is!  Summer Camp 2011 is going to be a blast -- a lot better than fighting bugs, the lake and sleeping in a bunk!!!  Check out their page!  I've learned several new techniques already -- like stamping on acetate and how to create an easy framed window card.  I've also seen a really net technique about blending markers.   Our first challenge/design was to use these colors:

 Here is my first card.

Check out their blog and see a LOT of wonderful creations!  Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY stamping day!

Repeat Impressions Sketch June 27

Sketch time,  sketch time, sketch time!  Can you tell I love sketches?  Really, they are my favorite challenge.  Wendy at The House That Stamps Built has the knack of giving us sketches that are easy to follow -- but can be a challenge.  So here is her sketch for this week.
I took a little liberties with this sketch and made it a little large than the sketch.  Here is my card:
The image is from the Far East Series and is called Crowned Crane Deco.  I used some period Art Deco colors in my dp.

Below are the other Design Team Members - take a look at their blogs and get inspired.  Then we would like to see what you would do with the sketch.  Link up your project on The House That Stamps Built blog.  At the end of the month Wendy will chose a random winner and you could be the one to win a gift certificate!  You do not have to use Repeat Impressions Stamps, but we would love to see what you create.
Thank for looking at my card - Have a HAPPY stamping day!!

Repeat Impressions Designers Choice Challenge from Miriam

With 102 and 103 degree days, I've been staying indoors!  This part of the state of Texas is very, very dry.  We have not had any rain in a long time.  Here's hoping you are staying cool.

Repeat Impressions' Designers issue a challenge every two weeks and they choose what the challenge will be.  This time it is Miriam.  She has thrown down the challenge to use water colors.  Now let me tell ya --- this was a challenge for me!  I ended up using a water pen with my inks and using the image Tulip Bouquet and the sentiment Thank you for being a friend.  I double embossed the white cardstock and used a Nestabilities Fancy Tag for the sentiment.

Here is my card:
Here is a list of the other team members -- check what they've created and then make a project to share with us.  You can link your project on the House That Stamps Built blog.  Then a random generator will pick a winner at the end of the month.  Can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for looking a leaving a comment -- I appreciate your time.

Have a HAPPY stamping day!

(3) Everyone is welcome to play along! Challenge a stamping friend!! Just follow the theme - use a something with the letter "G" - and add your direct link to our inlinkz widget on the Creative Belli Challenge.

Here is my card:
I used a Spica glitter pen, green, giant dragonfly and a greeting!  The dragonfly stamp and the greeting are from Repeat Impressions.  I added MS glitter to the little frame and a little Spica glitter to the wings with my Spica glitter pen.  The dragon fly was stamped on velum and cut out

Stamp TV Alumni Blog Hop Sunflower Birthday

If you have come here from Kay Simmons' blog, you are at the right place!   We would love for you to start at Stamp TV in order not to miss anyone's project.  Twice a month Carolina at Stamp TV challenges the Alumni Design Team Members with a sketch or colors or sometimes an inspirational pic.  This time she found this picture to inspire us:
There are so many things in this picture to inspire us - the colors, the sunflowers, the birthday wishes - it took me a while to decide what to do -- If you will look closely at the little terra-cotta pots, you will see ladybugs on the tags.  Gina K has a darling stamp set with a ladybug called Cute As a Bug.  I have not been able to ink this set up yet -- so this gave me the perfect excuse to make a ladybug card.  Here it is:

to reveal the greeting, just slip the ribbon band off

I also used the Smile and Inside and Out(for the sentiment inside) stamps along with GKD White and Lipstick Red Cardstocks.

Now hop on over to Linda Payne's blog  and see what she has created.  After seeing what the Design Team created, be sure to stop by Stamp TV and leave a comment.

Have a HAPPY stamping day!

Card Patterns Sketch 118

This has been a good week for playing for me!  Family responsibilities have kept me -- our whole family really busy for the last few months.  It looks like things are slowing down -- whaoo!!

This week I had time to do the Card Patterns sketch - it looks like this:

This is my card:
The paper is from Webster Pages, the Butterfly is a Gina K Stamp and the sentiment is from Paptertrey Ink.

This is a wonderful sketch with a lot of possibilities -- you can go to their blog and see what their Design Team has done.  I know you will be as inspired as I was.

Happy Father's Day from Repeat Impressions

It's Wednesday and this is the time of the month that a Designer from Repeat Impressions issues us a challenge of her choice.  This time it is Lynette -- check out her blog.  She is a very talented lady and I know you will be inspired.  Lynette challenged us to make a Father's Day Card using texture.  She encouraged us to emboss, use flower soft, glitter -- anything that adds texture to our project.  So... here is my card:

To create the texture I embossed the green background with a Cuttlebug folder - after I gave it a squirt or two of gold Shimmer Spritz from Tsukineko.  It makes the cardstock a little damp which makes the embossing a little deeper.  I used some heavy twine thread to add more texture and roughed up the edges of my paper.

Here are the other members of the Design Team and their projects.  Stop by and be inspired - and be sure to leave them a little luv!
Don't forget to communicate with your Dad if you can on Father's Day.

Have a HAPPY Stamping day.

Creative Belli Challenge Branches

Can you believe that May went by so fast?  It is time for another Creative Belli Challenge.  For this challenge we were asked to use branches -- stamps of branches, real branches from a tree, paper with tree branches on it --- or use your imagination!  The possibilities are endless.

Remember the goals of Creative Belli Challenges are for you to use old, forgotten or little used embellishments.  So go thru those baskets, bins and storage units and find something you would like to dust off and use -- we want to see what you can do with this challenge.  So link up your project to the Creative Belli blog.  Here is my card:

The paper is from BoBunny and the stamp and die cut branch are from Papertrey Ink.  The ribbon is from my sweet daughter and the branch has been coated with UTEE and they are very shiny and thick.

Here are the other designers who have made projects to inspire you.

Have a Happy stamping day!

CPS Card Sketches

Ahhhhh.....good old summer days!  Today it is suppose to be 101! What happened to our spring?  Well, at least I can scrap and play inside where I can keep it at a more more comfortable temperature.

The CPS Card Sketch for this week looks like this:
And here is my card:
I used PTI's Tissue Paper Technique over the main dp with some kraft colored tissue paper and MF crepe paper with a PTI sentiment.

I enjoy CPS sketches so much - why don't you try your hand - this is a GREAT sketch.  Take a look at what their designers did as some inspiration!

Have a HAPPY stamping day!

Stamp of the Week - His Words...

Our Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions is a quote from a poem by E. A. Robinson that reminds me of my dad.  E.A. Robinson lived in Maine shortly after the Civil War.  He won the Pulitzer 3 times!  That is absolutely amazing knowing Robert Frost won it 4 times.  Here is my card:

This stamp is called "His Words" and can be found  here.  Now remember that you can get this special stamp at 50% off when you go to The House That Stamps Built blog and get the special code Wendy has posted there.  Then you put that code in the special instructions blank as you order this stamp.  As you know this offer is good for one week only.
